Many mysteries surround the man known as Doc, but none so mysterious as the mystery involving the origin of his nickname. There are many stories circulating that seek to explain this enigma. Some of these stories are slightly true. Some of them are not so true. Others contain morsels of truth while still others are absolutely preposterous. Nonetheless, they are all entertaining and much more interesting than the actual event. That being the case, I leave it to you to decide.
